Thoracic Ultrasound

Thoracic ultrasound is an important management tool our veterinarians use to help in calf care. Our veterinarians ultrasound the calf's lung, and this increases their ability to diagnose pneumonia and find subclinical cases. Once a calf gets pneumonia, there are lifetime consequences that follow it even after treatment. The following are negative consequences of pneumonia:

* Decreased average daily gain
* Decreased conception rate as a heifer
* Decreased milk in the first lactation
* Increased risk of being culled in year one
